As an academic, I am professor of communication studies at California State University, Sacramento. My specific areas of interest are instructional communication and rhetorical criticism--which actually fit together surprisingly well.
In a couple weeks, I will be leaving for a three week stay at the University of Jyvaskyla to explore how my colleagues there understand, talk about, study and do "instruction." That is, how do they enact the tasks of learning and teaching--who does what, when, why, where and how in the instructional process, K-Uni.
My colleague there has been most generous in extending an invitation to visit and has worked tirelessly to prepare the ground for it. Thank you, Matti!
